In recognition of International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8th, a significant number of operators, associations, and other entities within the gambling sector have shown their backing for this year’s #EmbraceEquity initiative.
Spearheaded by All-in Diversity and Square in the Air, more than 50 organizations have united to endorse this year’s International Women’s Day #EmbraceEquity campaign. Major operators, including BetMGM, Betsson, Entain, and PokerStars, have all voiced their support for this year’s campaign under the #GamingAsOne theme. Furthermore, organizations such as the British Horseracing Authority and Godolphin Racing have utilized the #AllintheRace hashtag. Regulatory bodies, such as the Malta Gaming Authority and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, have also expressed their support for this year’s International Women’s Day, alongside companies like Better Collective and Clarion.
This marks the second consecutive year that All-in Diversity and Square in the Air have joined forces. In the previous year, the two companies collaborated on a video promoting the 2022 International Women’s Day. This year’s collaboration aims to recognize the individual narratives and accomplishments of the numerous women who contribute to the industry.
Tina Takor-Rankin, co-founder of the All-In Diversity Project, stated that the collaboration with SkyCity will be somewhat different from the previous year’s video campaign.
“Last year, our International Women’s Day video campaign, which we closely partnered with SkyCity on, was intended to emphasize the sometimes surprising personal experiences women encounter when working in the gambling and gaming sector,” Takor-Rankin said. “Moving forward into 2023, it’s time to honor and an opportunity to showcase the remarkable accomplishments women have made in our field.
“The campaign utilizes these accomplishments to demonstrate that the industry is not only striving to fully ’embrace equality,’ but that our diverse backgrounds make us stronger.”
Alan Kube, SkyCity’s creative director, remarked that it was heartening to observe the industry backing the campaign.
“We were astounded by some of the incredible achievements shared by women globally, but most significantly, it reminded us that everyone possesses their own narrative, their own experiences and unique strengths that deserve to be recognized,” Kube said.
“It’s thrilling to see the world’s largest gambling, gaming and racing organizations unite under the #GamingAsOne and #AllintheRace hashtags to celebrate our diverse strengths.”
On International Women’s Day (March 8), the complete list of supporting companies, alongside the accomplishments and experiences of the women featured in the campaign, will be shared on social media platforms.
