The UK National Lottery operator, Camelot, has restored its iOS application following a near month-long outage. They have assured users that the app is fully operational once again.
Regarding Android users, the company stated that their app version is undergoing final testing and will be “released shortly.”
This situation arose in October when Camelot was forced to remove both its iOS and Android applications from app marketplaces. Numerous user reports cited issues, particularly with functionalities allowing manual lottery number entry or ticket scanning. The apps were erroneously informing individuals that they had not won when, in fact, they had.
Camelot drew considerable criticism from UK media outlets for appearing to disregard customer complaints regarding the app malfunctions. Despite this, Camelot executives maintain they are heavily invested in enhancing their mobile and online platforms. They emphasize that the updated apps have undergone rigorous independent expert evaluation to ensure security and dependability.
