AstroPay, a provider of digital payment solutions, is strengthening its position in Brazil by incorporating Pix, the nation’s dominant instant payment platform. Introduced in 2020 by the Central Bank of Brazil, Pix has swiftly gained widespread adoption, currently representing upwards of 80% of all debit and credit card dealings in Brazil.
AstroPay customers can now utilize Pix for payments in two distinct ways: via a simplified, user-centric interface within the AstroPay platform, or directly through participating vendors employing AstroPay’s integrated software development kit (SDK).
This shift towards Pix is projected to significantly impact AstroPay merchants, with preliminary figures indicating a 7% to 15% rise in sales conversions.
Mikael Lijtenstein, Chief Executive Officer of AstroPay, highlighted the company’s dedication to delivering adaptable and cutting-edge financial tools. “This integration with Pix, a system that has transformed the Brazilian payments sector, enables us to offer a more expedited and streamlined experience customized to the needs of our Brazilian clientele.”
AstroPay, a financial technology company offering payment solutions, has established a significant user base in Brazil with over two million customers and collaborations with numerous retailers. The company is now focused on global expansion. After a prosperous introduction in Brazil in late 2021, AstroPay extended its offerings to other Latin American nations, including Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia, in the previous month. This tactical maneuver seeks to equip small and medium-sized enterprises in these developing economies with AstroPay’s cutting-edge payment technologies.
